  • New Mexico requires P/EVO certification
  • Must obtain certification to escort oversize/overweight loads

Escort Vehicle Requirements

When Escorts Are Required

Over Width

  • All widths exceeding 14': Escort(s) required
  • Widths less than 14': May require escort depending on routes traveled
  • 20' wide or more: Police escorts required

Over Length

  • 90' to 110' long: 1 escort required
  • Over 110' long: Front AND rear escorts required

Operating Times

Continuous 24/7 Travel Allowed

For loads not exceeding:

  • 120' long
  • 10' wide
  • 14'6" high
  • 140,000 lbs
  • Continuous travel allowed
